There are several styles of accommodation in Salcombe and we want to be sure that Whinfield is the right one for you. Here are some of the questions most often asked but please don’t hesitate to contact us directly, we will be very happy to talk with you.

Do you have a dining room?

As a guest, you may enjoy to take your breakfast either at the tables in your room or at a table on the south facing patio or garden.

Is breakfast included in your rates?

All of the delicious options of our continental breakfast are already part of the room rate so no extra charge –  There is no cooked breakfast option.

What are your breakfast times?

Breakfast can be taken at a chosen time between 8.0 and 9.30 but we always provide an earlier breakfast if needed that suits travel or other plans.

What are your check-in and check-out times?

Check in is from 3:00 and check out is at 10:30

Are there any discounts available?

We offer a 10% discount on the room rate for a stay of 4 plus days and a discount of 15% for a week’s stay.

May I arrange a late check out?

We can’t always guarantee a late checkout (because of the cleaning and room preparation requirements) but will try to accommodate you if possible

Can I leave my luggage with you?

You’re always welcome to checkout at the usual time and leave your bags with us for a later departure from Salcombe.  However we can’t guarantee retaining your parking space as this needs to be available for incoming guests.

Do you have Wifi?

Yes, we have Wifi available in all the rooms.

Are there restaurants and pubs close by?

There are many pubs and restaurants within walking distance as we are only a 12-minute walk away (downhill!) to Salcombe town centre. Please click on our ‘SALCOMBE GUIDE’ for details. Please note that it is important to book the pubs and restaurants ahead as early as you can – preferably a week or two at least before you arrive.

What isn’t included?

We hope you will be delighted with all we have to offer but as this is a Bed and Breakfast and not a hotel we do away with some of the additional luxury hotel style treats.  We don’t have:

  • An elevator
  • Air conditioning – the rooms are airy and cool
  • Bathrobes and slippers
  • Minibars
  • Land line telephone

Do you have daily housekeeping?

We don’t provide daily room servicing, but offer a change of towels when requested and a change of bed linen for guests staying more than 4 days.

Can you provide extra beds?

We don’t offer extra beds so only two guests to a room.

Are you child friendly?

Much as we are child friendly, we unfortunately cannot accommodate children under 11 due both to the nature of the building and the open non-gated access directly onto Herbert Road.

Is there parking?

Yes, free parking on site. Our drive on the premises will accommodate three cars but we also try to hold a parking space right outside in Herbert Road. Please note that parking is generally difficult in Salcombe during the summer season but as we are 12 minutes walk (downhill!) from the town centre we are delighted to have the chance to be able to offer these free parking spaces.

Do you have a laundry service?

We don’t offer a laundry service for our guests though we will try to accommodate specific needs if required.

Are you pet friendly?

Sorry but pets cannot be catered for.
